Sites and organizations dedicated to spreading truth,
liberty, freedom from tyranny and injustice, and free market
ideas.
The "Home Page of the Freedom Movement". Founded by the late Aaron
Russo in 2007, based on the excitement created around his
documentary "America: Freedom to Fascism", RTR continues his legacy
of restoring our great republic through education and activism.
Many tools and information for the modern patriot can be found
here, including the informative Republic magazine, as well as links
to the social network:
RESTORE THE REPUBLIC.NET,
RTR's social networking tool; the freedom movement's answer to
myspace and meetup.com. Here, you can create a personal profile,
start and join national or local groups, send messages and
coordinate events. The national End the Fed groups were largely
responsible for organizing the numerous protests at Federal Reserve
bank branches across the country in the fall of 2008.
An excellent non-partisan, alternative media news site run by Alex
Jones - radio talk show host and documentary film maker. Jones is
considered by many to be the voice of the freedom movement and
works tirelessly to expose lies and corruption from all sources of
government and mainstream media propaganda. He's especially famous
for being a leader in the 9/11 Truth movement, and has had many
high-profile celebrities, scientists, and experts in numerous
fields on his radio show on the GCN radio network, also available
as podcasts.
PRISON PLANET
is the paid-membership site where of all Alex Jones' political
documentaries are available for download (or to order on DVD),
including Terror Storm, Police State, 9/11 Chronicles: Truth
Rising, and Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement (highly
recommended!) There are also video clips of many of his radio talk
show episodes.
With the money left over from his presidential campaign, along with
continuing donations, Ron Paul started the political
organization/movement Campaign for Liberty to continue the
R3volution! The huge grassroots movement he started is still alive
and actively working to get politicians elected who run on a "Ron
Paul" platform of individual liberty, fiscal responsibility, and
non-interventionism. The site features many blogs by officials and
members alike, extensive educational materials on many subjects and
essential organizing tools for state/community level activism.
G. Edward Griffin, author of books such as the bestselling expose
"The Creature from Jeckyll Island: A Closer Look at the Federal
Reserve", has developed a network determined to counter the
influence of freedom-stealing collectivists with an equally potent
and embedded force of freedom-promoting individualists. This noble
plan to establish local Freedom Force chapters is well-outlined and
defined, starting with The Creed of Freedom, which all members must
swear to uphold. Think of it as sort of a "Skull & Bones" style
"secret society" for the freedom movement! On this site you'll find
much enlightenment in Griffin's personal essays, as well as in his
Unfiltered News email newsletter that he encourages you sign up for
for free.
"The We the People Foundation is a non-profit research and
educational foundation. Our purpose is to promote a deeper
understanding of the history and nature of America’s unique
constitutional system of government and the power it affords our
citizens to hold government leaders at all levels accountable for
their actions. The Foundation’s programs facilitate effective civic
action intended to compel government officials to obey our federal
and state constitutions."
Third Parties
While the administrator of this site desires for it to be largely
non-partisan (with the belief that full exposure to the truth will
lead people towards the correct path or paths), it is very
important to realize that there are more political parties out
there than the main two! In fact, there are many of them - but they
are routinely marginalized by the media and political establishment
because they pose a threat to the status quo. And as long as people
are unwilling to give them credence by "wasting their vote" on
them, or are simply blissfully unaware of their existence, then it
is the status quo that we will continue to be stuck with. We
encourage everyone to research third parties and find which one(s)
you truly agree with. Some of the more popular ones include the
Libertarian Party, the
Green Party and the
Constitution Party. Also,
there's the
Third Party
Watch website for more info on 3rd parties and independents
running for office.
Downsize DC has a comprehensive plan to introduce bills into
Congress that will help restore the federal government to it's
Constitutional limits, such as the Read the Bills Act and the One
Subject at a Time Act. "We believe the federal government has grown
too centralized, too intrusive, and too expensive. We believe in
constitutional limits, smaller government, civil liberties,
federalism, and low taxes. We want to end laws and programs that
don't work, cause harm, and violate the Constitution. We want to
restore the full force of the 9th and 10th amendments, which
reserve most social functions to the people and the states."
Govtrack.us is an open source research tool to track actions of
Congress, something that would normally be a daunting and complex
task for ordinary citizens. This site makes it easy to look up the
status of federal legislation, voting records of the Senate and
House, as well as info on individual members of Congress. The site
also offers tools to track specific issues that are of interest to
you, including widgets that you can add to your webpage.
Nevermind what you might have heard about JBS, that it's just a
'good-old boys' club for conspiracy theorists", just take a look at
what they're doing. Possibly one of longest-lived modern "patriot"
organizations, the John Birch Society, founded in 1958 by Robert
Welch, has been dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom by
returning to a Constitutional government. The site presents many
educational and activism tools. JBS has been an influential force,
especially with their highly informative magazine, The New
American, which is admittedly subscribed to and read regularly by
Representative Ron Paul. JBS.org now also has some excellent
activism tools to help you send pre-templated letters to your local
representatives on important bills. It even figures out who to send
them to based on your address - they literally do all the work for
you! (Activism-->Freedom Campaign).
"Welcome to Truth Attack, a coalition of Freedom Movement
organizations and patriots dedicated to the restoration of the
limited and distant federal republic guaranteed us by our
Constitution. Truth Attack is unfolding a coordinated plan of
action that will put the government back in its box—one tentacle at
a time! The first tentacle is the IRS's fraudulent, unlawful and
economically, morally and socially destructive application of the
income tax to Americans living and working here at home. America
must wake up to the Truth!"
"The primary function of the independent juror is not, as many
think, to dispense punishment to fellow citizens accused of
breaking various laws, but rather to protect fellow citizens from
tyrannical abuses of power by government." This site contains a
plethora of educational resources for the fully informed patriot
juror. Contrary to popular belief, our founders intended jurors to
not only judge those accused of a crime, but to judge the very
validity, and hence, enforceability of the law itself! See
"jury revolution" and "jury nullification" elsewhere on this site
for more information.
Well-known for their work towards 9/11 truth investigations, part
of their mission statement describes them best: "We Are Change has
arisen from the remnants of our republic to fill the vacancy left
by those who swore to preserve, protect and defend The Constitution
against all enemies – foreign and domestic. We seek to expose the
fraud of the left/right paradigm and reveal that the world truly
functions on a top/down hierarchy that threatens to destroy free
society as we know it. We Are Change works to educate, motivate,
and activate those striving to uncover the truth behind the private
banking cartel of the military industrial complex that is directing
the majority of U.S. policy, and that is actively seeking to
eliminate national sovereignty and replace it with a "one world
order." We will also continue to move in a direction that
reconnects “We the People” to our nations founding principles laid
out in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights."
Possibly the nation's only libertarian law firm, I think their
mission statement describes it best: "Through a unique and
strategic combination of litigation, legal counsel, training,
research, communications and outreach, the Institute for Justice
advances a rule of law under which individuals can control their
destinies as free and responsible members of society. IJ litigates
to secure economic liberty, school choice, private property rights,
freedom of speech and other vital individual liberties and to
restore constitutional limits on the power of government. IJ
provides legal counsel to inner-city entrepreneurs, because their
freedom to shape their own businesses directly affects their
freedom to shape their own lives and communities. In addition, IJ
trains law students, lawyers, policy activists and grassroots
organizers in the tactics of public interest litigation and
advocacy for liberty. Through these activities, IJ challenges the
ideology of the welfare state and illustrates and extends the
benefits of freedom to those whose full enjoyment of liberty is
denied by government."
"The Free State Project is an agreement among 20,000 pro-liberty
activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the
fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which
the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty,
and property. The success of the Project would likely entail
reductions in taxation and regulation, reforms at all levels of
government, to expand individual rights and free markets, and a
restoration of constitutional federalism, demonstrating the
benefits of liberty to the rest of the nation and the world."
The most respected source for Austrian economics, "The Ludwig von
Mises Institute is the research and educational center of classical
liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School
of economics. Working in the intellectual tradition of Ludwig von
Mises (1881-1973) and Murray N. Rothbard (1926-1995), with a vast
array of publications, programs, and fellowships, the Mises
Institute, with offices in Auburn, Alabama, seeks a radical shift
in the intellectual climate as the foundation for a renewal of the
free and prosperous commonwealth."
One of the top libertarian think tanks, the Cato Institute's
mission is to "increase the understanding of public policies based
on the principles of limited government, free markets, individual
liberty, and peace. The Institute will use the most effective means
to originate, advocate, promote, and disseminate applicable policy
proposals that create free, open, and civil societies in the United
States and throughout the world."
